About

My name is Lucian and I have been trying to learn the art of photography for a few years now. I do this as a hobby and I don’t see any plans to turn it into something else in the future. If you browse from the very beginning when I had absolutely no idea what I was doing to the more recent pictures I think there is an improvement. This happened after I decided to join a photography workshop taught by two amazing people: Toma and Monica Bonciu. They helped me to think before I take a picture and then the basis of photo editing.

This is how I ended up with this blog full of pictures. I would like to change the format of the blog a bit but so far I haven’t found a theme that I like better than the one I have now (Duotone). So any ideas are welcomed. I also welcome critics and opinions. The policy for the comments I accept is as follows: keep it polite and constructive and we can become friends. If you don’t I simply reject the comment (yes I am a dictator on my own blog…).

The equipment I used over the years consisted of a Canon Powershot S5IS (I think… it was quite some time ago) and the I moved to a Canon 60D DSLR camera and a few lenses: Tamron 17-50 mm f/2.8, Canon 50 mm f/1.4 and a Canon 70-200 mm f/4 L. I am planning another change (if I manage the budget properly) to a full frame camera and some more lenses, but this is a story for another time.

Anyway, thanks for visiting my blog!

Lucian

  3. Greetings Lucian,
I also have a science background but eventually studied Photography which is what I was so passionate about from a young age. Photography is a beautiful way of expressing so beautifully that which the mind contemplates, the heart feels and soul senses. I sincerely wish you all the best on this amazing journey in the world of Photography. Take care my friend and all the best on your life’s journey.
    God bless

  4. Knowing about mathematics might help you to make photos in the golden ratio like the house on the meadow.

    • Thank you for the comment. I am trying to follow the photography rules as much as I can but I find that I get carried away by the landscape and forget more often than I’d like to admit!
